With waxing, the top layers of skin are peeled or traumatised, and 4 out of 5 people are sensitive to wax. Threading is gentler on the skin and a great choice because it uses no harmful products. If you use medicated products for breakouts, threading is much better for your skin.

What do I have to do when I get my brows threaded?

When you get your eyebrows threaded, place one hand on the top of your eyelid and the other on your forehead to stretch the skin tight. This helps us create a nice shape for you.

Before we start, we always ask what you are looking to get done with your eyebrow shape. We only take out the hair you wish to remove, ensuring no unwanted removal of natural eyebrow, so you feel comfortable throughout your appointment and for weeks afterwards.

Is threading painful?

Accepted Answer

Threading can be less painful than tweezing because it takes out several hairs at a time. With regular threading it becomes less uncomfortable as your skin gets used to it. Some people experience more discomfort than others, but it is still less painful than waxing or tweezing.

How often should you get your eyebrows threaded?

Hair regrowth varies from person to person, but our brow experts recommend every two to five weeks. Since threading removes hair from the root, it lasts quite long depending on your natural hair growth and aftercare.

How much does eyebrow threading cost at Iconbrows?

Accepted Answer

Eyebrow threading and shaping starts at CAD $30 and includes full brow shaping. If you have very bushy or thick brows, the Excessive Hair Removal service is $50. You can also add a brow tint to your threading appointment for $50 total. All services are by appointment only. Book online to reserve your spot.

Can threading be done on the upper lip, chin, or other areas of the face?

Yes. Threading works beautifully on most areas of the face, not just the eyebrows. At Iconbrows we offer threading for the upper lip ($15), chin ($12), and a full-face excessive hair removal option ($50) that covers the eyebrows, upper lip, chin, cheeks, lower lip, and sides. Threading is ideal for smaller facial areas because it is precise enough to target even the finest hairs without irritating the surrounding skin. Please note that Iconbrows does not offer body hair threading.

Is threading better than waxing for sensitive or acne-prone skin?

Threading is widely considered the gentler choice for sensitive or acne-prone skin. Because only cotton thread touches your face, there are no chemicals, no hot wax, and no adhesive residue pulling at the skin surface. Waxing removes a thin layer of skin cells along with the hair, which can aggravate sensitivity, cause redness, and increase the risk of breakouts. Threading lifts hair directly from the follicle without disturbing the surrounding skin, making it a much safer option if you use retinoids, acne medications, or any other products that thin or sensitise the skin.

Will threading make my eyebrow hair grow back thicker or darker?

No. Threading does not change your hair texture or thickness. This is a common myth. Hair thickness and growth patterns are determined by genetics and hormones, not by how hair is removed. New regrowth can sometimes appear slightly darker because the fresh strand has not yet been softened by sun exposure, washing, or everyday friction. With consistent threading over time, many clients find that regrowth becomes finer because the follicle is repeatedly removed at the root.

What should I expect if this is my first eyebrow threading appointment?

Your first threading session is quick and straightforward. Here is what to expect: Your brow expert will ask about the shape you are going for before any hair is removed. Speak up about your preferences, including how much arch you want and how full you want to keep the brows. You will be asked to stretch the skin around your brow area with your fingertips to keep it taut. This helps the thread glide smoothly and makes the process more comfortable. The sensation is a rapid, light snapping or pinching along the skin. Most clients find it more tolerable than waxing, and any discomfort fades within seconds of finishing. The appointment takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Expect some minor redness for up to a few hours after. Avoid heavy makeup, steam, swimming, and direct sun exposure for 24 hours post-service. Results last approximately 2 to 4 weeks depending on your natural hair growth cycle.

If you are travelling from downtown Toronto, take the QEW highway toward the airport, then take the Lakeshore off-ramp and you will arrive right in front of our building. If you are travelling toward downtown Toronto, take the QEW highway toward the city, then take the Park Lawn off-ramp and turn right after Legion Road. We have FREE underground parking available.

Take the QEW or Gardiner Expressway to the Park Lawn Road exit and follow Marine Parade Dr south to Annie Craig Dr. Free underground parking is available in the building, so clients coming from Lakeshore, Mimico or the broader Etobicoke west end can arrive without any parking stress.
