How do I look after my laminated brows?

Accepted Answer

Gently brush your brows upwards into shape with a clean spoolie, especially in the morning. For the first 24 hours avoid touching them, applying pressure (helmets, headbands) or getting them wet. If they get wet, gently pat dry and brush back into shape.

How long does brow lamination last?

Depending on your makeup routine, hair growth cycle and hygiene, laminated brows last around 6 weeks on average. Without proper aftercare the effect can fade faster.

Does brow lamination work on thin or sparse brows?

Accepted Answer

Lamination is better suited to naturally thicker, fuller brows. If your brows are very sparse or have wide gaps it may not give a lasting result. You are welcome to book an online consultation and one of our brow specialists can advise you.

Can I do brow lamination on microbladed brows?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but it is important that the microbladed or microshaded brows are completely healed before a brow lamination service.

Who should not have a brow lamination treatment?

Accepted Answer

This procedure may not be recommended if you have sensitive skin, rosacea, eczema or a history of contact dermatitis. Possible side effects from the chemicals include swelling and redness. Peeling or itching of the skin. Bumps or general irritation.

How much does brow lamination cost at Iconbrows?

Accepted Answer

Brow lamination with a complimentary brow tint is CAD $120 and takes about one hour. Brow lamination on its own (without tint) is $100. A standalone brow tint is $30. All appointments are by booking only. You can reserve your spot online and a $30 deposit is required at the time of booking.

What is the difference between brow lamination and microblading?

Brow lamination and microblading are two very different services that solve different concerns. Brow lamination is a chemical treatment that lifts and sets your existing brow hairs into a fluffy, brushed-up shape. It is non-invasive, painless, and lasts around 6 weeks. It works best if you already have a reasonable amount of brow hair. Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing technique that deposits pigment under the skin to create the appearance of individual hair strokes. It fills in gaps and sparse areas and lasts around 12 to 18 months with a touch-up. If your brows are naturally full but unruly or flat, lamination is often the better fit. If you have sparse brows with significant gaps, microblading or a PMU service may deliver a more lasting result. Not sure which is right for you? Does brow lamination damage your brows?

When performed correctly with professional, dermatologically tested solutions, brow lamination is safe and does not damage healthy brow hair. At Iconbrows we use our own IconStyle solutions formulated to lift and set the hairs without over-processing them. A nourishing oil treatment is included at the end of every appointment to keep the brows conditioned. To protect the health of your brows, we recommend waiting at least 8 to 12 weeks between lamination appointments and following the aftercare instructions provided at your visit.

How often can I get brow lamination done?

Most clients return every 6 to 8 weeks as the lamination effect fades with the natural hair growth cycle. If you follow a good aftercare routine and keep your brows moisturised, results can extend closer to 8 weeks. We recommend waiting a minimum of 8 weeks between appointments, and ideally 10 to 12 weeks, to avoid over-processing the hair. Your artist will advise you at your appointment based on the condition of your brows.

Can I get brow lamination if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

We advise against brow lamination during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. The chemical solutions used in the lamination process can be absorbed through the skin, and skin sensitivity is often significantly increased during pregnancy, raising the risk of irritation or an adverse reaction. We recommend waiting until after your baby is born and you have finished breastfeeding before booking this service. Can I get my brows wet or wear makeup after brow lamination?

For the first 24 hours after your appointment, keep your brows completely dry and avoid touching or applying pressure to the area. This includes avoiding steam, saunas, swimming, and heavy sweating. After 24 hours, you may gently cleanse the brow area and resume most makeup and skincare. A few things to keep in mind: Avoid oil-based cleansers, makeup removers, or serums directly on the brows, as oils can break down the lamination and shorten your results. You can fill in your brows with brow pencil or powder as normal, just use gentle strokes and avoid tugging. Apply a light nourishing balm or castor oil to the brows daily after the first 24 hours to keep the hairs conditioned and extend the lamination.

If you are traveling from downtown Toronto, take the QEW highway toward the airport and exit at Lakeshore. You will arrive right in front of our building. If you are traveling toward downtown Toronto, take the QEW highway toward the city, exit at Park Lawn and turn right after Legion Road. FREE underground parking is available at the building. Do not arrive late. Take a moment to calculate your drive time in advance, as we may not be able to service your appointment if you arrive late. Consider the traffic. Toronto traffic can be heavy during peak hours, so please plan ahead. Use the restroom before you arrive so you can enjoy the service calmly and relaxed. Arrive alone. To maintain a clean, sterile environment for all clients, we ask that guests wait outside during your appointment.
