Please follow these helpful tips and words of advice from Iconbrows Brow & Lash Beauty Experts in Toronto, Ontario to help ensure you get the best experience and result.
Lash Extensions
Iconbrows eyelash extensions give you that extra wow to your lashes but you will need to do some minor steps to ensure your new lashes stay on for as long as possible! It is quite normal that your lashes fall off, on average we humans regrow lashes at a rate of 1 new lash every 2-3 days, do not worry just make sure to follow these instructions to ensure you can keep the rest of your lash extensions on for as long as possible.
- Use Gentle Foam Cleansers! We recommend you use a gentle non-greasy foam cleanser for your eyelashes to ensure they stay clean and maintain hygiene of your lashes.
- No Mascara! Please do not use mascara on your lash extensions. And if you use eyeliner, please only use water-based eyeliner that needs to be removed, with any other makeup, every night.
- Rinse Lashes Daily! It is important to gently rinse and wash your eyelashes daily to help maintain them for as long as possible. Use your fingertips or a lash cleaning brush with your gentle non-greasy foam cleanser.
- Avoid Pulling & Rubbing! Just Don't Do It! We know it can be hard, and sometimes we accidently do it just out of habit, but you need to leave your lash extensions alone for them to stay as long as possible.
- Brush Your Lashes! Gently use a lash brush to brush and seperate your lash extensions daily, it will help keep them from clumping together and keep you looking fabulous for much longer.
Your lash extensions will remain longer depending on your general lifestyle, activities, everyday makeup usage, exercising regiment, exposure to heat or activities like hot yoga or saunas, all these will impact on how long your lash extensions will stay on your natural lashes. If they fall off sooner than you want, then no problem you can always come in for a re-fill with iconbrows lash extensions at anytime as long as you dont wait until more than half are gone then we will have to give you a new Iconbrows Lash extensions set in the style you want!
Lash Lift & Tint
Although Iconbrows lash lift & lash tint are easy to take care of and do not require much maintanence, the first 24 (Twenty Four) hours after your lash lift & lash tint service is of vital importance! At this early stage your lashes are still delicate as the lifting agent is working its magic which means you need to maintain these steps and be as careful as possible.
- No Water on Lashes! Do not get your lashes wet in the first 24 (Twenty Four) hours after your iconbrows lash lift service. This includes, but not limited to, excessive moisture and steam from saunas and baths, sweating during excersizes or exposure to heat, and washing your face as you would normally do.
- No Makeup! Please do not use any makeup around your new lashes or any other eye treatment or procedure during the first 24 (Twenty Four) hours after your Iconbrows Eyelash Lift & Lash tint service. You can start using mascara again, if you want, after the first 24-48 hours.
- Use Gentle Foam Cleansers! We recommend you use a gentle non-greasy foam cleanser for your eyelashes after they have settled in 24-48 hours.
- Avoid Touching & Rubbing! Just Don't Do It! We know it can be hard, and sometimes we accidently do it just out of habit, but you need to let your lashes rest and settle in for the first 24 (Twenty Four) hours.
- Avoid Sleeping On Your Lashes! Sleep is important, but you cannot sleep on your front within the first 24-48 hours. Become like dracula for two nights and sleep on your back to ensure your lifted lashes stay as long as possible.
After the initial 24-48 hours you can resume your normal day to day life with your fabulous new lashes. However we recommend you continue to use a gentle foam cleanser for your lashes to ensure they stay healthy and lifted as long as possible. You can come in for a new lash lift usually after 6-8 weeks, if you have taken care of them properly, if not then you may need to come in a bit earlier, but that is not a big issue you are always welcome at Iconbrows - Brow & Lash Perfection.
Brow Lamination
You just got your brows laminated with Iconbrows brow lamination and want to maintain them for as long as possible? Don't worry just make sure to follow these instructions to help you manager your new brows for as long as possible. Just like lash lifting, eyebrow lamination follow the same rules as the first 24 hours being critical to ensure long lasting results. Following the recommended steps will help ensure your brows stay healthy, hydrated and strong and you avoid damaging or causing your brow hairs to brittle or break.
- Use Gentle Foam Cleansers! We recommend you use a gentle non-greasy foam cleanser without oils for your laminated eyebrows daily.
- No Water Within 24 Hours! Please keep your brows dry and avoid any water or sweating within the first 24 hours of your eyebrow lamination treatment. This includes but is not limited to excessive moisture from excersicing and intense actvities and steam from saunas and hot baths.
- No Brow Makeup! Please avoid using any makeup near your eyebrows or recieve any treatments around your eyebrows for at least the first 24 hours.
- Avoid Touching & Rubbing! Just Don't Do It! We know it can be hard, and sometimes we accidently do it just out of habit, but you need to leave your brows alone for them to stay as long as possible.
- Avoid Sleeping On Your Face! Sleep is important, but you cannot sleep on your front within the first 24-48 hours. Become like dracula for the first 24-48 hours and sleep on your back to ensure your brow laminated browhairs stay as long as possible.
Your can resume your normal daily life after the first 24 hours! However we recommend you use a gentle cleanser or conditioner to maintain your laminated brows as long as possible. If you are experiencing brittle or falling hairs, then we recommend using a natural castor oil to help hydrate, rebuild and give shine and softness to your brows. Use a mascara wand to gently apply and brush the castor oil onto your lashes or brow hairs.
PMU: Microblading, Microshading & Fusion Brows
If you have just gotten your new brow transformation with Iconbrows True HD Microblading, Eyebrow Shading (Ombre, Powder) or Iconbrows True HDi Fusion Brows, here are some guidelines and tips to help ensure you experience a healing process that retains as much of the pigment and shape as possible before your Perfecting Touch Up. These important aftercare instructions will help you get the best healed results possible.
- Do Not Touch! You must not touch your new brows or the surrounding area around your new microbladed, shaded brows for at least 24-48 hours after your appointment. They need to heal, let them heal in peace.
- Use A Gentle Cleanser! After 24 hours of your microblading or microshading appointment, you can keep your brow area clean by using a gentle FRAGRANCE-FREE cleanser and water, gently cleaning with your hands. Do not use a washcloth or sponge! Clean the brows by moving your fingers and hands gently in the direction of the natural hair growth of your eyebrows.
- Air Dry Those Brows After Washing! It is best to air dry or gently dab the eyebrows with a clean towel to remove water and other moisture.
- Apply Aftercare Serum! Use the aftercare serum given to you by our brow experts with freshly washed hands or a Q-tip. DO NOT apply vaseline, petrolium, A & D ointments or Bepanthen to the area during its healing as your risk of infection is very high.
- No Picking or Rubbing! We know it will itch, and scab. That is a normal part of the healing process for your brows, but if you pick, rub or scratch the treated area you may cause scarring and pigment loss leading to much more work and potentially a more touch ups to get the desired final result. Let the healing process naturally make it fall off, it is completly normal and will be corrected in the following perfecting touch up appointment.
- Avoid Sun Exposure! The sun is going to be your enemy for the 3 (Three) weeks after your appointment. Avoid it at all cost, direct sunlight on your eyebrows will cause the pigment to fade much faster and irritate your brows. Avoid direct sunlight, tanning beds, pools (chlorine will irritate your brows and may cause an infection afterwards), sauna, steam rooms, hot showers and hot baths for 3 weeks after your eyebrow microblading or shading procedure.
- Avoid Intense Activity! Relax those marathon runs, gym squats and deadlifts that cause sweat to run down your face. Limit physical effort, gym and any other intense activity that causes you excessive sweating for at least 7-14 days.
- Avoid Sleeping On Your Face! Sleep is important, but you cannot sleep on your face for at least the first 10 days after your eyebrow microblading or shading service. Become like dracula for two nights and sleep on your back to ensure the oils, dust and other bacteria on your pillow doesnt seep into your brows and affect its natural healing process.
- No Makeup, Botox Or Facials! Do not use any makeup, botox or skincare products for at least 2 weeks after your eyebrow microblading, microshading, fusion brows appointment. Do not get any facials, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion treatments for at least 4 weeks. These may impact your eyebrows natural healing processes and affect your healed results.
- Avoid Retin-A! If you use Retin-A, try to avoid using it close to the brow area.
- Wear Sunblock When Goin Out! After around 14-21 days when the brow area has healed properly, please consider using sunblock when going out in places under direct sunlight to stop the color from fading. (SPF 30 or 50)
Please Note: Your eyebrows microbladed or microshaded area will appear to be anywhere from 20-40% darker and bolder in color and shape 24-48 hours after your initial microblading, microshading or fusion brows appointment. The complete healing process takes about 4-8 weeks depending on how well you follow the guidelines above and your bodies natural healing ability. During the eyebrows healing process, your microbladed, shaded eyebrows will soften and lighten and undergo changes that may seem worrisome, but rest assured it is a completely normal part of your healing process. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is naturally regenerating and exfoliating to bring out the pigment and shapes we have added. Any loss in pigment and shape will be corrected in the Perfecting Touch Up appointment 4-8 weeks after your initial appointment when your eyebrows have fully healed.
