What is the Iconbrows Microblading process like?

The entire Iconbrows True HD Microblading process takes around 2 to 3 hours. There is no down time. We apply a numbing agent to reduce any discomfort, then give you aftercare instructions to help your brows heal beautifully before your Perfecting Touch Up Session. The Iconbrows process is unique to our studio. Even if you have been to other studios, we ask that you follow our policy and process, refined over years of experience and training with master-level artists. First we do some basic paperwork to learn your medical history and confirm you are a good candidate. We then map out a custom design and shape based on your preferences and our advice. Once you approve the mapped-out shape, we begin making precise hair-like incisions into the upper epidermal layer. We finish by cleaning the area, reviewing the results with you, and giving aftercare advice for the next 4-8 weeks.

How long do microbladed eyebrows last?

It lasts up to 2-3 years (depending on the individual’s skin type and lifestyle) before the pigment fades and dissolves into the skin. Most clients come within 1-2 years to maintain their eyebrows. Those with oily skin and more melanin tend to fade faster and may require more frequent touch ups, so we recommend Fusion Brows to ensure they last longer.

Is the microblading service painful? Will it hurt?

Iconbrows True HD Microblading is virtually painless. Many clients comment on how easy and comfortable the procedure is, especially those who have had microblading done before at other studios. Most clients experience little to no pain as we apply a gentle but effective topical anesthetic. Because it is a cosmetic tattoo, some individuals may feel mild discomfort, but we take many precautions to keep you comfortable.

Will my eyebrows be really dark after microblading?

Your eyebrows may look a little darker or swollen for the first day or two, but most clients return to daily activities right after the procedure. Although healing can be as fast as 9-14 days, we recommend giving it a full month to fully heal and let the pigment settle before your Perfecting Touch Up.

Yes! Our highly skilled Brow Experts have mastered designing customized brows that follow your natural hair growth for the most natural and beautiful looking results. There are varying factors, however, and results depend on your skin type. If you are not an ideal candidate you may have less than optimal results. We will not necessarily decline your appointment for this reason if we both agree that in your case microblading is still a better outcome than no eyebrows.

Persons with uneven, patchy brows or uneven hair growth. Sleepy or droopy eyes that want to look more lifted and alert. Those tired of hearing they look tired all the time. Those who want the illusion of a more lifted and defined look without cosmetic surgery or injections. Busy people who want to save time getting ready in the morning. Those who experience stress from having to draw in their eyebrows every morning. Those who want to wake up looking done right when they roll out of bed. Those who want more definition in their face. Alopecia clients who prefer having eyebrows rather than none at all. Those with naturally occurring bald spots or uneven hair distribution. Those with active lifestyles who want to look done even without makeup. Those with oily skin or active lifestyles who don't want to worry about makeup wiping off.

Who is not a good candidate for microblading?

Accepted Answer

Those with very oily skin and enlarged pores, as lines may be susceptible to blurring and fading faster than on normal or dry skin. Those who have recently had botox, injectables, a cosmetic procedure, or surgery. Those with scar tissue within the brow area, as these patches do not absorb pigment well and will fade quicker. Those with acne-prone skin. Those with little to no eyebrow hair. Alopecia clients, as microblading is most ideal for those with at least some existing brow hair to blend with. Those taking blood-thinning medication or high-dose vitamins. Please disclose all medical information before your procedure. Even if you have some of the factors above, that does not necessarily mean microblading is off the table. Results may not be optimal but can still be better than no eyebrows. Most studios will decline these candidates, but with a skilled technician many of these parameters can still be worked with. Our goal is to make sure you are happy with your brows. If we feel we are unable to achieve your goals, we will disclose this and recommend options better suited to your situation.

What is the Perfecting Touch Up service? Do I really need it?

The Iconbrows Perfecting Touch Up is the second part of your eyebrow transformation. After your brows go through their natural healing process, the injected pigment may scab, darken, lighten, or partially come off depending on how well you care for them. The Perfecting Touch Up addresses those issues and ensures the final result matches the design you wanted. Many clients also decide they want small adjustments after seeing their new brows at home, such as a slightly bigger shape or a higher arch. That is another aspect we refine during the Perfecting Touch Up Session. Without the Perfecting Touch Up your new eyebrows will fade much faster.

How much does microblading cost at Iconbrows?

The Iconbrows True HD Microblading service is $700 CAD and includes your FREE Perfecting Touch Up session, which is the second appointment booked 4-8 weeks after your initial visit. That means the full two-step treatment is covered in one price. Optional follow-up services for existing clients are priced separately. A $100 deposit is collected at booking and goes toward the total. We are a by-appointment studio, so book online to secure your spot or reach out if you have questions about which service fits your goals.

For most people, yes. If you spend time every morning drawing in your brows, microblading removes that step entirely for 1-3 years. Clients frequently say it is one of the best decisions they have made for their confidence and daily routine. The value depends on your skin type, lifestyle, and expectations. On normal to dry skin, results are crisp and long-lasting. If you have very oily skin or active skin conditions, a powder or combo technique may deliver better longevity. Our team will always advise you honestly on which service will give you the best return for your situation.

What is the difference between microblading, ombré powder brows, and nano brows?

These are three different techniques for semi-permanent eyebrow enhancement, and each suits different skin types and style preferences. Microblading uses a handheld manual tool to draw individual hair-like strokes into the upper skin layer. It gives the most natural, hair-realistic result and is best for normal to dry skin with some existing brow hair. Ombré Powder Brows use a machine to softly shade pigment across the brow, creating a gradient that is lighter at the front and deeper toward the tail. The effect is closer to filled-in makeup and suits all skin types, including oily and mature skin, with longer-lasting results. Nano Brows (also called machine hair strokes) use a digital machine with an ultra-fine needle to create hair strokes similar to microblading, but with more precision and better performance on a wider range of skin types. Can I get microblading while pregnant or breastfeeding?

We do not perform microblading on clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. This is standard practice across the industry. The main reasons are that numbing agents and pigments enter the skin during the procedure, and there is not enough research to confirm these are safe during pregnancy or while nursing. Hormone changes during pregnancy can also affect how pigment heals and retains, leading to unpredictable results. We recommend waiting until after you have finished breastfeeding before booking.

Can I work out, swim, or get my brows wet after microblading?

For the first 10-14 days after your appointment, you need to keep the brow area dry and avoid anything that causes sweating. That means no gym sessions, hot yoga, swimming, saunas, or steam rooms during the initial healing phase. Water, sweat, and heat during healing can push the pigment out before it has had a chance to set, leading to patchy or faded results. Once fully healed, your brows are waterproof and sweat-proof, so your active lifestyle carries on as normal. Your full aftercare instructions will be reviewed with you at your appointment and sent to you in writing.

How often do you need to touch up or refresh microblading?

After your initial service and your included Perfecting Touch Up (4-8 weeks later), most clients return for a Re-Touch and Boost every 12-24 months to keep their brows looking defined and fresh. The exact timing depends on your skin type, sun exposure, skincare routine, and how you naturally metabolize pigment. Clients with oily skin or those who use active skincare ingredients like retinol or exfoliating acids tend to fade faster. Those with dry skin in a gentle routine can often go 2 years or more between refreshes. You should never re-book an annual touch up with a new studio without consulting us first, especially if your brows still have existing pigment. We offer a new-client cover-up and correction service for those coming from other studios.

Our primary location is 56 Annie Craig Dr, M8V 0C8, Etobicoke, Toronto, in Humber Bay Shores. We have FREE underground parking available. Travelling from downtown Toronto, take the QEW towards the airport and exit at Lakeshore. Travelling towards downtown, take the QEW towards the city and exit at Park Lawn.

How do I get to Iconbrows from downtown Toronto?

Take the Gardiner Expressway westbound and exit at Park Lawn Road. Follow Park Lawn Rd south, turn onto Marine Parade Dr, then left onto Silver Moon Dr and right onto Annie Craig Dr. The drive from King Street West is around 15 minutes outside of rush hour. Free underground parking is available at the studio, so there’s no need to search for street parking or pay a meter before your appointment.
